MEET THE OWNER -
Kathy Hawker
Kia ora, my name is Kathy and I have owned and operated Flying Start Childcare and Pre-School for 12 years. In this time I have completed extensive refurbishments and will continue to develop the centre further to cater for the ever-changing needs of our community.
Ongoing training is extremely important which is why I routinely give my educators the opporunity to up-skill themselves with professional development courses. I also attend a selection of these courses myself. Being a qualified nurse I ensure that all my educators hold a current first aid certificate.
I am a member of several business network groups and have been appointed the centre contact person for the Early Childhood Council.
I bring a world of knowledge and life experiences into Flying Start Childcare and Pre-School and I am commited to providing the best quality care and education centre in Rotorua.
MEET THE MANAGER - Nicky Hawker
Kia ora, my name is Nicky and I have had the privilege of working here at Flying Start Childcare and Pre-School for 11 years. During this time I have worked in all the areas of the centre, providing quality care and education.
I had previously trained as a nanny before joining the team and have since gained my Diploma of E.C.E. and full Teacher Registration. I have just completed a certificate in learning support with an endorsement in special needs.
I am a mother of two children and have seen first hand how Flying Start Childcare and Pre-School has helped them to achieve their best in a supportive and stimulating environment.
